President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni hosted a farewell luncheon at State House, Entebbe, on Monday to honor the outgoing cabinet for their service to the nation.
The President praised the ministers for their pivotal role in Uganda’s socio-economic transformation during their tenure. He specifically highlighted this cabinet’s historic contribution to elevating Uganda into middle-income status. President Museveni attributed this economic milestone to the collective effort, discipline, and commitment of the team.
“This is the Cabinet that ushered Uganda into middle-income status,” the President stated.
The President also recognized the ministers for their support during the recent electoral process. He described the election outcome as a shared victory for the government and the people. Looking ahead, he expressed strong confidence that the economy will maintain its growth trajectory in the next term.
“I thank everyone who contributed to this achievement, including the Cabinet Secretariat for effectively managing the business of cabinet,” he added.
Despite the celebratory tone, the President emphasized the necessity of ethical leadership for future governance. He called for a renewed commitment to integrity, accountability, and patriotism within public service. He urged all outgoing members to remain dedicated to these values regardless of their future roles.
The event concluded with a final cabinet meeting chaired by the President before the transition to a new administration. President Museveni offered his gratitude to the entire team and shared his well-wishes for their future endeavors.
“I thank them all and wish them good luck,” the President concluded.
