Uganda will construct four emergency medical camps inside the Democratic Republic of Congo to treat Ebola patients at the source, a strategy backed by the WHO after Uganda canceled the Namugongo Martyrs Day celebrations to avert a regional health crisis.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has praised Uganda's aggressive border screening and medical surveillance systems for successfully containing a potential Ebola outbreak along the DRC border.

The EAC Ministers of Health have formed a Regional Technical Taskforce to synchronize screening protocols at all border entry points to combat the Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak. The foundation helps cover critical expenses such as transport, feeding, and accommodation for young patients and their families during treatment. It operates largely through donations from well-wishers.

The Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs has finalized a highly autonomous corporate governance framework for the UPDF National Referral Hospital. Permanent Secretary Mrs. Rosette Byengoma and Board Chairman Prof. Francis Omaswa stated the model will grant the facility the operational flexibility required to meet global clinical standards.

Uganda has closed its border with the DRC with immediate effect due to an escalating Ebola outbreak. Permanent Secretary Dr. Diana Atwine confirmed the presence of the Bundibugyo strain, as the National Task Force mandated a 21-day isolation period for all exempted arrivals.
