Newly appointed Deputy Commissioner for External Affairs, Ronnie Kananura, has vowed to hit the ground running and deliver on his expanded mandate at the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), following his recent appointment.

In a statement, Kananura expressed his gratitude to the PLU leadership for trusting him with the responsibility and said he is fully committed to strengthening the organization's international presence and advancing its strategic objectives on the global stage.

"I am ready to serve and deliver on the responsibilities entrusted to me. The Patriotic League of Uganda has a critical role to play in shaping the country's future, and I am committed to ensuring that our external engagements reflect the vision and values of our National Chairman, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba," Kananura stated.

Kananura holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Suffolk University Law School and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), giving him a strong grounding in both international regulatory frameworks and corporate governance.

His journey within PLU spans from the early days of the MK Army to his most recent role as Chairman of PLU-USA, where he managed the organization's American operations and expanded its diaspora network.

In his new capacity, Kananura will oversee strategic partnerships, international diplomatic outreach, and cross-border policy initiatives—tasks he described as critical to positioning PLU as a formidable force in regional and global affairs.

"I take on this responsibility with seriousness and a deep sense of purpose. The work ahead is significant, and I am determined to deliver results," he added.
