The Ministry of Works and Transport has dismissed claims that government has suspended the registration of digital number plates.
In a public notice dated July 5, 2026, the ministry said the claims, shared on TikTok and X, were false and misleading.
“The registration and issuance of digital number plates have not been suspended,” the ministry said.
It said the programme remains in force and all registration services continue under the set procedures.
The ministry urged the public to ignore the claims and rely on official communication from the Ministry of Works and Transport.
It also warned the public against creating, sharing or amplifying unverified information, saying it may cause confusion and inconvenience.
