The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention has appealed to the U.S. government to lift temporary Ebola-related travel restrictions on Uganda. Africa CDC Director General Dr. Jean Kaseya emphasized that Uganda has successfully contained the virus, tracking no new cases since late June 2026, and urged scientific evidence over broad travel penalties.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has praised Uganda's aggressive border screening and medical surveillance systems for successfully containing a potential Ebola outbreak along the DRC border.

An Indian Air Force C-17 aircraft has delivered 43 tonnes of emergency medical and diagnostic kits to Entebbe Airport to bolster the Africa CDC's regional Ebola response. President Museveni has approved an Africa CDC proposal to set up a continental Incident Management Support Team in Kampala to coordinate Ebola containment efforts. Meeting with Director General Dr. Jean Kaseya, the President emphasized that the Bundibugyo strain remains highly manageable through strict public health attention.
