The UPDF 106 Military Police Battalion has completed a 30-kilometre route march to improve troop fitness, endurance and operational readiness.

The Uganda Peoples' Defence Forces (UPDF) 106 Military Police Battalion has conducted a 30-kilometre route march as part of ongoing military drills aimed at improving operational readiness, physical fitness and troop endurance.

The exercise covered Buyala, Nakilebe and Katende.

Maj Gideon Bindeba Mugisha commended officers and soldiers for showing high morale, discipline and resilience during the exercise.

Maj Mugisha said the route march is part of the military drills initiated by the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, to improve the operational readiness of UPDF personnel. He added that the exercises aim to keep soldiers physically fit and ready for assigned missions.

Some participating soldiers said regular physical training improves their endurance, teamwork and readiness for future operational tasks.

Different UPDF divisions and formations have recently conducted route marches across the country in line with the directive from the Chief of Defence Forces.
