Kazo district on Thursday held a thanksgiving ceremony following its overwhelming support for President Yoweri Museveni in the 2026 elections. The district also used the occasion to celebrate the Chief of Defence Forces Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s birthday with a run.
“Today, I had the honour of representing Gen. @mkainerugaba in Kazo District during a successful double celebration that combined the 52nd Birthday Run and a thanksgiving function for the people of Kazo following their overwhelming support for the @NRMOnline in the recently concluded general elections, where the district registered an impressive 99.71% vote,” Haruna Kasolo, the State Minister for Microfinance who represented Gen Kainerugaba, posted on X.
The events attracted hundreds of patriotic Ugandans who turned up in unity and excitement to celebrate leadership, patriotism and community spirit.
The minister planted a commemorative tree at the district headquarters on behalf of Gen Kainerugaba to mark his 52nd birthday. He said the gesture symbolises “growth, resilience and commitment to a greener future.”
Gen Kainerugaba, who is also a senior presidential adviser on special operations, contributed Shs20 million to support community activities and strengthen mobilisation efforts within the district.
Kazo County Member of Parliament Kimosho thanked Gen Kainerugaba for the support.
“Special thanks to Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba for the UGX 20M contribution towards community mobilisation and to Hon. Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo for delivering the CDF’s message,” Kimosho posted on X.
