The Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations, Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has dedicated this years' national heroes' day to frontline health workers battling to protect Ugandans from the deadly Coronavirus.

Gen Kainerugaba who is a known admirer of his fellow soldiers has in the past recognized the contribution by soldiers especially those who placed national interests above anything else to liberate Uganda.

"Happy Heroes Day to you all! This year let us remember all the brave healthcare workers battling the COVID-19 pandemic. We appreciate all you do to keep us healthy. God bless Uganda!" Gen Kainerugaba tweeted.

Gen Kainerugaba's recognition of the health professionals' work at the frontline is further evidence of the battle they are engaged in.

Currently, Uganda has at least 650 positive cases of Coronavirus including health professionals and security personnel.

Recently President Museveni said that Ugandan doctors are doing a great job and that they are among the best in the world.

The President's observation was based on the way the COVID-19 situation has been managed. It is also important to note that no Ugandan has died from the virus so far.

Meanwhile, President Yoweri Museveni is expected to preside over the national celebrations at State House Entebbe.

"A happy Heroes Day to all Ugandans. I will address the country this morning as we mark this important day, paying tribute to those whose sacrifice is the foundation for our country's stability and development," President Museveni tweeted.
