15 Finalists Battle for Uganda’s First Miss Universe Crown

Uganda will crown its first Miss Universe Uganda on August 1, 2026, as the inaugural pageant reaches its grand finale at the Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.

The event will mark Uganda’s entry into the global Miss Universe competition, with the winner set to represent the country on one of the world’s biggest beauty and leadership platforms.

The pageant, sponsored by V&A Sherry, follows weeks of leadership training, confidence building and personal development for contestants. The brand said its partnership reflects its commitment to supporting women who pursue ambition and create change in their communities.

“As V&A Sherry, we are proud to stand behind this historic finale and celebrate the young women who have the ambition and the confidence to dream beyond boundaries. We chose to partner with this platform because of how it celebrates women who are writing their own stories, lifting others through leadership, and showing that confidence is built through purpose and perseverance,” said Roy Ronald Tumwizere, Brand Manager for V&A Sherry at Uganda Breweries Limited.

The competition started in May and attracted young women from across the country. The number of contestants has since been reduced from 25 to 15 finalists who are competing for the crown.

The winner will become Uganda’s first Miss Universe representative and will showcase the country’s culture, identity and aspirations on the international stage.

Beyond the glamour, organisers said the competition aims to promote leadership, resilience and self-belief among young women by giving them a platform to share their stories and make an impact in their communities.

The Grand Finale will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 6:00pm. Guests are expected to attend in black-tie attire.
