A team of 30 Kenyan tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers, and influencers has begun a seven-day familiarisation trip across Uganda. The delegation was officially flagged off on November 4, 2025, by Ambassador Paul Mukumbya, Uganda’s Consul-General in Mombasa.

The Uganda–Kenya Coast FAM Trip 2025 follows the successful 4th Edition of the Uganda–Kenya Coastal Tourism Conference held in Malindi in October 2025. The initiative aims to strengthen cross-border collaboration between tourism stakeholders in Uganda and Kenya’s coastal region, promoting regional and borderless travel within East Africa.

The visit highlights Uganda’s commitment to sustainable tourism, biodiversity conservation, and community-based development in one of Africa’s most diverse destinations.

During the seven-day trip, participants will experience Uganda’s wide range of attractions, from wildlife and adventure to culture and agri-tourism. The journey began with a visit to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas.

“By engaging firsthand with Uganda’s top attractions, the visiting tour operators and influencers will gain valuable insights to market and package Uganda’s tourism products for regional and international travellers,” said Ambassador Mukumbya during the flag-off.

The trip underscores Uganda’s growing reputation as a must-visit destination and reinforces efforts to position East Africa as a unified tourism hub.
