Tooro PM Rwomiire Discusses Youth Agriculture Initiatives with PLU’s Vice Chairman Toyota

The Prime Minister of the Tooro Kingdom, Rt. Hon. Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire, yesterday held a meeting with the National Vice Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Mr. Toyota Nuwagira.

The dialogue is part of the Kingdom’s continued efforts to build strategic partnerships that expand economic opportunities for young people across the Tooro region.

The discussions focused primarily on leveraging agriculture as a practical vehicle for youth employment, enterprise development, and wealth creation.

Both leaders explored areas of collaboration designed to help young people transition from job seekers to job creators through commercial farming, agro-processing, value addition, and targeted entrepreneurship skills training.

The meeting reaffirmed a shared conviction that Uganda’s youthful population is its greatest asset, and that strategic investments in youth programs today are essential to securing a prosperous, self-sustaining future for the region and the nation at large.

Moving forward, technical teams from both sides will outline a structured framework to implement these shared youth empowerment goals.
