Major General William Bainomugisha warns Military Police officers that their ranks are symbols of duty rather than decoration. Following an intensive two-week refresher course in Mpigi, 221 soldiers are heading back to the field with enhanced skills in VVIP protection and public order management.

Major General William Bainomugisha has ordered Military Police officers to treat every assignment with absolute gravity.

The Commandant of the Military Police Brigade issued this directive on Tuesday during a graduation ceremony in Buyala, Mpigi District. He presided over the completion of a two-week refresher course for 221 soldiers.

Maj Gen Bainomugisha emphasized that military leadership requires more than just wearing a uniform. He reminded the personnel that their status carries a heavy burden of service to the nation.

"The ranks you wear on your shoulders are not for decoration; they are a symbol of responsibility in the execution of your duties," Maj Gen Bainomugisha stated.

The curriculum also included public order management and tactical terrain modelling. Participants demonstrated proficiency in combat karate and high-level physical fitness routines.

Colonel Sylvia Meeme, the Brigade Operations and Training Officer, praised the Commandant for prioritizing continuous professional development. She noted that frequent training directly improves the unit's overall performance.

Colonel Meeme encouraged the graduates to maintain their momentum as they return to their regular stations.

"I urge you to take up such opportunities with morale and positivity because they are important in your day-to-day professional lives," Col Meeme said.

The ceremony concluded with demonstrations of the skills acquired during the fortnight of training. Senior and junior officers attended the event to witness the pass-out of the newly refreshed force.
