The Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has dropped all charges against Maj Gen Don William Nabasa and ordered his release from detention following a meeting between the two.
“I’m glad to announce after a long meeting with Maj.General Don Nabasa today I have decided to release him and drop all the charges he was facing,” the CDF posted on X.
“I thank him for the good work he has done in our mighty military since he joined in 1998. God bless UPDF!”
Maj Gen Nabasa has previously served as Joint Staff Policy and Strategy and commander of the UPDF Third Infantry Division in Moroto.
Details surrounding his detention and the charges against him have not been made public.
