The Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Beijing showcased the country’s tourism and investment potential at the Henan Culture and Tourism Industry Expo (CTIC) 2026 in China from May 18 to 23, 2026. The event attracted more than 10,000 exhibitors and over 60,000 visitors from around the world, highlighting innovations in tourism, hospitality, transportation, and cultural industries.
The Uganda delegation was led by Ambassador Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Geoffrey Muheesi Baraba, Deputy Head of Mission. He engaged with Chinese exhibitors, business representatives, and tourism stakeholders to explore cultural exchange, tourism promotion, and investment partnerships between Uganda and China.
Speaking at the Expo, Ambassador Baraba highlighted Uganda’s rich cultural heritage, diverse tourist attractions, and investor-friendly climate. He encouraged Chinese investors and tourists to explore opportunities in the country.
The Embassy said its participation strengthened Uganda’s visibility as a tourism and investment destination and provided a platform for networking and international collaboration. Uganda continues to promote its culture, tourism, and economic opportunities through strategic engagement with China and other partners.
