Entebbe International Airport recorded a growth in passenger traffic in March 2025, handling 178,383 international travelers — a rise from 171,990 passengers in the same month last year.

According to figures released by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority, the airport registered 83,661 arrivals and 94,722 departures during the month, averaging 5,754 passengers per day.

The increase has been linked to Uganda’s hosting of global conferences, stronger tourism campaigns, the launch of new routes by Uganda Airlines, and the entry of Flynas, which started direct flights between Riyadh and Entebbe in January 2025.

The March numbers marked a recovery from February 2025, which saw 161,095 international passengers — a decline from the 175,630 logged in February 2024.

Despite the ups and downs, the year opened on a high note when January 2025 recorded 216,740 international passengers, the second-highest monthly traffic in the airport’s history.

Cargo operations also remained strong. Entebbe handled 1,965 metric tonnes of imports and 3,887 metric tonnes of exports in March, totaling 5,852 metric tonnes. Export volumes once again outpaced imports, contributing to Uganda’s foreign exchange earnings and supporting economic growth.
