The Commander Land Forces of the UPDF Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has received two guns that were taken from UPDF Soldiers who were murdered in cold blood by the Turkana criminals.

Gen Kainerugaba received the guns at the UPDF 3rd Division Headquarters in Moroto district Thursday afternoon.

The CLF received the guns from the UPDF 3 Div commander Brig Joseph Balikuddembe who was part of a Ugandan security delegation that received the guns from Kenyan authorities yesterday.

"I thank our brothers the Kenyan Police and some Turkana elders for quickly tracking them down and returning them to us. However, we still demand the culprits who killed our soldiers to be handed over to us to face justice," Gen Kainerugaba said in a message to this reporter.

On March 26, the CLF warned the Turkana criminals against their actions following the death of two UPDF Soldiers and a team of Ugandan geologists.

"As Land Forces we are giving an ultimatum to the Turkana! They were partly responsible for the death of my soldiers (and our geologists) a few days ago! If they do not leave Uganda immediately they will get what they are looking for! We have warned them!" Gen Kainerugaba said in a tweet.

Gen Kainerugaba is in Karamoja for the second time in less than six months to examine the security situation in the region.

On his last visit to Karamoja in October last year, Gen Kainerugaba met several leaders that he encouraged to sensitize cattle rustlers against their barbaric acts.

Following the resurgence of the vice, Gen Kainerugaba has returned to the same region to further examine and find solutions to existing security gaps.
