The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has warned individuals fabricating social media posts in his name, vowing that they will be tracked down and held accountable.
The UPDF leader addressed the issue on his official X account on Tuesday, responding to a circulated fake tweet that allegedly showed him making disparaging remarks about the Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.
“This is a totally fake tweet. I can never say anything against someone I love and respect like His Majesty the Kabaka,” Gen Kainerugaba posted. He added, “We shall find those forging tweets and make them answer.”
The forged message had falsely claimed that the UPDF General questioned the Kabaka’s authority and boasted that the office of the CDF wielded more power.
In reality, Gen Kainerugaba has consistently used his public platforms to express admiration for the traditional leader and the Buganda Kingdom, making the alleged remarks entirely out of character and prompting his firm response.
