UPDF has passed out 175 Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) in Moroto after a leadership and ideological course aimed at strengthening discipline and operational effectiveness.

The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) has passed out 175 Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) after completing a three-month leadership and ideological training in Moroto, reinforcing its focus on discipline and professional development.

The officers graduated from the course held at the 3 Infantry Division headquarters under Operation Usalama Kwa Wote, a programme supporting peace, stability, and disarmament in Karamoja.

Presiding over the ceremony, Division Commander Major General Wilberforce Serunkuma described NCOs as the backbone of the army and urged them to lead with responsibility.

“Today marks not the end of training but the beginning of renewed responsibility in your careers. The successful completion of this course is a testament to your commitment, hard work, and readiness to take on even bigger responsibilities in the force,” Maj Gen Serunkuma said.
