Leaders in Bunyoro Sub-region have commended President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for spearheading major infrastructure developments and championing women empowerment, saying the region is reaping long awaited economic transformation.

The praise was led by Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja as President Museveni launched his Bunyoro campaign trail at Buyanja Village in Kibaale District. She described the President as the architect of women emancipation, noting that her rise to the position of Prime Minister reflects the new opportunities created for women under his leadership.

Kibaale District NRM Chairperson, Matovu Fred, also hailed the government for key mega projects including Kabalega International Airport, Hoima City Stadium, a regional public university and expanded road networks. He confirmed that 110 acres have already been secured for the new Kibaale Industrial Park.

President Museveni assured residents that the government will establish an industrial park requiring about 10 square miles, along with an additional skilling hub to boost youth employment and value addition. He said Bunyoro’s remarkable progress is rooted in peace, which he noted was once threatened by ADF incursions in Muzizi.

“Peace is the foundation of development,” he said while urging residents to guard national stability.

The President also dismissed claims of neglect, citing ongoing investments such as the Hoima–Kyegegwa road and petroleum-related infrastructure. He encouraged households to take up the four-acre model and tap into government financing through the Parish Development Model.

NRM Western Region Vice Chairperson, Jonard Asiimwe, pledged close monitoring of the industrial park’s implementation to ensure timely delivery.
