President Yoweri Museveni welcomed Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah, Qatar’s former Minister of Foreign Affairs, and his delegation at Nakasero State Lodge on May 11, 2025.
The meeting focused on strengthening Uganda-Qatar collaboration in key sectors. Museveni and Al Attiyah explored opportunities in petroleum supply, mining, and agriculture.
The President also proposed partnerships in battery production for electric vehicles and agro-processing initiatives.
“We discussed potential collaboration in areas such as petroleum supply, mining, and agriculture. I also suggested partnerships in battery production for electric vehicles and agro-processing initiatives,” Museveni shared on X.
The discussions signal Uganda’s push to diversify its economy through international partnerships.
Museveni thanked the Qatari team for their visit and wished them success.
“I extend my welcome to them and wish them good luck!” he added.
The meeting underscores growing ties between Uganda and Qatar, with both sides eyeing mutual economic benefits.
