The Uganda Police Force (UPF) has partnered with the Uganda Management Institute (UMI) to launch a 28-day leadership and management course for senior officers at the Senior Command and Staff College in Bwebajja.

The program aims to enhance officers’ leadership skills, improve staff performance, and optimize resource management within the force. It also focuses on communication strategies for effective policing and community engagement, as well as monitoring and evaluation techniques to ensure accountability.

Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Moses Kafeero, Director of Human Resource Development, officially launched the course, emphasizing its significance in strengthening police leadership. “Effective leadership and management are crucial in modern policing. This training will empower our officers to lead with professionalism and efficiency,” he said.

Dr. S. Kasozi Mulindwa, Director of Programs and Students’ Affairs at UMI, urged officers to apply their newly acquired skills to enhance policing in their areas. “This program is an opportunity to transform leadership in the police force. I encourage you to actively engage and put this knowledge into practice,” he stated.

The training is expected to equip officers with strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, and service delivery within the Uganda Police Force.
