The National Secretariat for Patriotism Corps (NSPC) has launched a two-week patriotism training program for university student leaders across Uganda. Commissioner Hellen Seku, the leader of the NSPC, presided over the launch on January 3, 2025. The training is taking place at Nkumba University.
The program aims to equip student leaders with skills and knowledge to foster patriotism and national unity. Commissioner Seku emphasized that the training seeks to develop informed and patriotic leaders who embody a strong sense of national identity and civic duty.
“This initiative is part of our mission to cultivate patriotism among young Ugandans by instilling pride in their country and encouraging active citizenship,” said Seku, who has championed youth engagement in national development since the NSPC’s establishment in 2009.
This year’s training has drawn many student leaders from universities nationwide, reflecting a growing interest in patriotism among the youth.
President Yoweri Museveni is expected to officiate at the program's conclusion, highlighting the government’s commitment to promoting patriotism and unity among young leaders.
