Museveni Welcomes Swedish Investors to Uganda

President Yoweri Museveni has met and held discussions with a delegation of 15 Swedish investors at State House, Nakasero.

The Swedish Ambassador to Uganda, Per Lindgarde led the investors who have shown interest in the areas of public transport and energy.

President Museveni welcomed and informed them that in terms of business, the African continent and Uganda in particular, is the place to invest in.

"I am now happy that Europeans have started showing interest to invest here,” he said.

He asked Swedish companies to invest in value addition to food items such as fruits, milk, and sugar, among others.

He also interested them in the manufacturing of car batteries and the irrigation sector.

State Minister for Investment, Evelyn Anite and Uganda’s Envoy to Sweden, Nimisha Jayant Madhvani, attended the meeting.
