NEBBI, WEST NILE: Nebbi local leaders have described President Yoweri Museveni as a unifying and developmental leader who understands needs of the people.
The leaders made the observation on Friday as they showered the president with various gifts including sheep, goats, chicken and cultural regalia amidst cheers.
“We don’t want to fight other people’s wars. Other districts have developed much better than us. It is now our turn and we want it big from you. West Nile has nothing against you. We don’t have another candidate either in the Primaries or in the General Elections. We want you to continue with your clear and strong leadership from 2021 and beyond,” the Chairman LCV of Arua District, Wadri Sam, said seconded by various leaders from the West Nile Region Districts of Arua, Koboko, Maracha, Pakwach, Nebbi, Zombo, Arua and Yumbe.
“As our sole candidate, we want to install you as our uncontested leader in line with our culture and people’s aspirations. West Nile has no one to contest against you whether in the Primaries or in the General Elections,” he said amidst ululations. The leaders also held joint prayers for the President.
The leaders resolved to promote the President’s campaign on wealth and job creation in the country. They also declared their overwhelming support and adopted the NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC) resolutions at Chobe Safari Lodge, NRM Parliamentary Caucus Retreat in Ngoma, to endorse President Museveni as the sole NRM Chairperson and Presidential Candidate for another term in 2021.
Other regions like Bunyoro and Tooro have also endorsed Museveni’s sole candidature.
