The Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation has made the Uganda Gazette freely available online, removing paywalls to improve public access to statutory instruments, legal declarations, and historical gazette archives.

The Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC), the state printer, has made the Uganda Gazette freely accessible online, eliminating subscription charges to expand public access to statutory records and state notices.

The Uganda Gazette serves as the country’s primary journal of record, carrying legal notices, statutory instruments, official appointments, corporate and property registrations, and legislative enactments essential for legal practitioners, corporations, civil society, and researchers.

UPPC Managing Director Prof. Sudi Nangoli stated that the open-access portal reinforces government transparency, statutory compliance, and civic participation by ensuring citizens can view official records without financial constraints.

The rollout aligns with UPPC’s 2023–2028 Strategic Plan, which aims to digitize 80 percent of the corporation’s corporate workflows, products, and services by 2028. As part of this digital preservation initiative, the agency is also cataloging and digitizing archival editions of the Gazette dating back to 1902 to safeguard national historical assets.

The general public can access the free repository directly through the UPPC official portal by navigating to the E-Gazette directory and selecting past or current editions for download.
