A youth movement identifying as "Gen Z for Gen 7" has endorsed General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, describing their decision as a civic exercise aimed at encouraging young Ugandans to engage with national affairs.
Speaking after signing the endorsement book, National Coordinator Kyarisiima Israel stated that the group's primary motivation is to highlight the values of discipline and patriotism. He argued that the General’s decades-long career in the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) serves as a tangible example of service for the younger generation.
"We want Gen Z to be inspired by Gen MK’s commitment to duty," Israel said. "We believe our generation should learn that leadership is about service, responsibility, and commitment to country, not just holding office."
Israel characterized the endorsement as a legitimate expression of civic rights, emphasizing that young people should not remain "spectators" in discussions about Uganda's future. He called on the youth to remain organized and informed, asserting that Uganda’s development hinges on the active participation of its younger demographic.
