Maj Gen Felix Busizoori, the Commander of the 4 Infantry Division, has called on newly trained Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) soldiers to match their technical skills with unwavering discipline, emphasizing that character is as vital as competence in the military.

He made the remarks on Friday during the pass-out ceremony of 34 soldiers who completed the Office Assistant Basic Course, Intake 02/25. The course was designed to equip participants with clerical and office management skills, including document handling and administrative procedures.

He stressed that strong documentation practices and strict discipline in offices are essential for institutional integrity. He cited issues such as forged allowances and poor accountability, noting that these can be prevented through orderly filing systems, accurate records, and respect for standard procedures.
