The Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba who is also the Commander Special Forces Command has met the Turkish ambassador to Uganda.
The meeting happened Tuesday at the SFC Headquarters in Entebbe.
Ambassador Fikret Kerem was accompanied by the Turkish defence attache to Uganda Col Ismail Demirtas
In a private meeting, Gen Kainerugaba and the Turkish delegation discussed increasing security cooperation between Uganda and Turkey.
"Yesterday, it was my great honour to meet the Turkish Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Fikret Kerem, and their Defence Attache. We discussed increasing security co-operation between Uganda and Turkey," Gen Kainerugaba tweeted Wednesday morning.

Uganda and Turkey have enjoyed diplomatic relations for over 50 years in various areas including military and defence cooperation, trade, investment, education as well as parliamentary diplomacy.
Gen Kainerugaba has been holding meetings with several international envoys with the view of deepening bilateral cooperation.
Among others, Gen Kainerugaba has in the recent past held meetings with the Italian ambassador HE Massimiliano Mazzanti, German Ambassador H.E. Matthias Schauer and French envoy Excellency Jules-Armand Aniambossou.
Relatedly, Gen Kainerugaba in January 2021 met the US Defence Attaché to Uganda, LTC. Scott Polasek.
The two military officers discussed further strengthening the strong Uganda-US military to military co-operation and reviewed the strong historical links between the two militaries and pledged to work to strengthen them further.'
