President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has backed the development of the HUVET Bio-Science Park in Mpigi District, calling it a major leap toward national vaccine sovereignty. Led by Iranian investor Eng. Hashem Azimi, the biotechnology hub will manufacture local animal vaccines, combat livestock diseases, and position Uganda as a regional center for veterinary biotechnology.

State House Comptroller Jane Barekye has announced plans to build a second Presidential Industrial Skilling Hub in Karamoja to meet surging demand for vocational training. During an assessment visit to the Napak District hub, officials also appointed a regional SACCO manager to oversee the President's Shs50 million revolving fund for young entrepreneurs.

The Minister of Local Government, Hon. Barugahara Balaam Ateenyi has warned that public servants are not eligible to contest in Local Council elections unless they resign from public service at least 30 days before nomination, saying the law requires public officers to remain politically neutral.
