Miss Uganda Opens Search for Next Beauty Queen

Applications are open to Ugandan women aged 18 to 26 at a fee of Shs50,000

Miss Uganda Foundation has opened applications for Road to the Crown 2026 as it searches for the country’s next representative at the Miss World pageant

The Miss Uganda Foundation has launched Road to the Crown 2026, opening the search for the next beauty queen who will represent Uganda at the Miss World pageant.

The launch took place at the Oppein Experience Room in Kampala on June 17, bringing together former beauty queens, sponsors, media personalities and other guests.

Organisers unveiled this year’s theme, Beauty with a Purpose, saying it remains at the heart of the Miss Uganda brand 15 years after its revival.

Reigning Miss Uganda, Trivia Elle Muhoza, attended the event alongside first runner-up Agatha Drakes Keine and second runner-up Gloria Katushabe. The three thanked sponsors and partners for supporting them during their reign.

“We are deeply grateful for the support our partners have given us,” Muhoza said. “I won’t disappoint when I take to the global stage.”

One of the pageant’s major partners, V&A Sherry, pledged continued support for the initiative.

Roy Ronald Tumwizere, the brand manager for V&A Sherry at Uganda Breweries Limited, said the pageant helps young women develop leadership skills and create positive change in society.

Miss Uganda chief executive officer Brenda Nanyonjo said the competition goes beyond physical appearance.

“We have never seen Miss Uganda as merely a beauty pageant; we see it as a platform to transform lives,” she said.

Nanyonjo said regional auditions will start in Eastern Uganda on July 2 before moving to West Nile, Northern Uganda, Western Uganda and the Central region.

The competition will end with the grand finale at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel on October 10, where organisers will crown a new Miss Uganda.

Applications are now open to Ugandan women aged between 18 and 26. Contestants must hold a valid national identity card or passport, have completed A-Level education or its equivalent, and satisfy the pageant’s eligibility requirements.

Applicants will pay a registration fee of Shs50,000.

The launch marks the start of another nationwide competition that organisers hope will identify a young woman capable of representing Uganda on the international stage.
