Uganda Cranes Head coach Johnathan McKinstry has been "sacked."
In a statement released by Federation for Uganda Football Association (FUFA) Executive Committee, McKinstry will "step aside from managing and coaching the team for the period from 2nd- 31st March 2021."

He is replaced by Assistant Coach
Mubiru Abdallah, Mbabazi Livingstone and goalkeeping coach Kajoba Fred who will take charge of the team during this period.

"The rest of the Technical team remains unchanged. FUFA will use the period to assess and monitor the performance of the team," the statement reads.

The 35 year old Northern Irishman was appointed as Uganda Cranes Head coach in September 2019 replacing Frenchman Sebastien Desabre. Desabre resigned after the Cranes’ Round of 16 elimination in 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
