Basaliza Henry Mutegeki, a Central Committee member and Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) coordinator for the Tooro Sub region, called on newly elected Members of Parliament to embrace disciplined leadership and prioritize national service during a dinner celebrating Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba's 52nd birthday.

Addressing the MPs-elect, Basaliza warned against complacency and self-interest. "Leadership requires commitment to the people," he said, urging legislators to justify voters' trust through tangible service delivery, such as better roads, schools, or healthcare.

He also reflected on PLU's growth as a platform mobilizing Ugandans around patriotism, unity, and transformation. The dinner brought together political leaders and stakeholders, serving both as a celebration and a moment of reflection.

Basaliza congratulated the MPs-elect on their victory and challenged them to remain grounded in integrity, accountability, and national development. His address stood out for its focus on leadership obligations rather than mere festivity.

The dinner was hosted by PLU’s national vice chairman Mr Michael Nuwagira aka Toyota.
