Kazo District has launched the “A Billion Tree Planting Project” to celebrate General Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s 52nd birthday and the district’s 99.7% presidential vote. The initiative promotes environmental conservation as a key act of national patriotism.

Kazo District has launched an ambitious environmental campaign to plant one billion trees as part of celebrations marking the 52nd birthday of General Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

The "A Billion Tree Planting Project Begins" initiative kicked off on Thursday, blending environmental conservation with political celebration. The event serves a dual purpose: honoring General Muhoozi’s #MKat52 milestone and recognizing the district’s 99.71% presidential election performance. Residents gathered in large numbers to demonstrate that rapid development and nature protection can coexist.

The massive tree-planting drive aligns with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s long-standing directive to safeguard the environment for future generations. Local leaders described the campaign as a new chapter of patriotism for the people of Kazo. By hitting the billion-tree target, the district aims to become a national model for reforestation and climate action.

“Kazo District today writes a new chapter of patriotism and environmental conservation,” one of the participants noted during the launch.

The celebrations highlighted Kazo's exceptional loyalty to the NRM government, specifically pointing to the overwhelming electoral victory of President Museveni. Participants linked the General’s birthday to the district's commitment to national stability and ecological health. The event featured various community groups and youth leaders who pledged to nurture the newly planted seedlings.

Strategic environmental protection remains a core pillar of the current administration’s vision for Uganda. This project intends to restore indigenous forest cover and improve local weather patterns for farmers. As the billion-tree journey begins, Kazo officials urged other districts to adopt similar large-scale greening initiatives to honor national leaders through service.
