Safal Uganda Baati Foundation, under its health thematic focus, joined hands with Rotary Uganda in the 12th Annual Rotary Cancer Run on 25 August 2024, held at the UMA Millennium Parking Grounds. This partnership aims to raise awareness and improve access to cancer care across Uganda. The event, which marked the Foundation’s first official initiative after Uganda Baati's 60th anniversary, sought to raise UGX 4 billion to support cancer treatment at Nsambya Hospital.

Mr. George Arodi, CEO of Uganda Baati, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating, "Our participation in these campaigns demonstrates our firm support for the cause while helping us establish strong referral mechanisms and support networks for patients battling cancer, who come through our facilities."

This year's run, themed "Spread Magic in Every Step," saw the active involvement of Safal Uganda Baati Foundation staff, who participated in community health outreach programs leading up to the event. These programs focused on creating awareness about prevalent cancers, promoting prevention methods, and encouraging timely health-seeking behaviors.

Ms. Jolly Twine Mpairwe, President of the Rotary Club of Kampala Morning Star, praised Uganda Baati for its ongoing support in the fight against cancer in Uganda. Arodi further urged the public to prioritize prevention and early detection, stressing that with the right education, individuals can make meaningful lifestyle choices to prevent cancer and other non-communicable diseases.

The Foundation remains committed to enhancing health outcomes in Uganda through active participation in national health advocacy campaigns.
