The Ministry of Health has announced that 43 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed, bringing the total number of cases to 203.

All the new cases were from the 1,838 samples taken from truck drivers. 

Uganda reached a grim milestone of 100 confirmed cases of COVID-19 seven days ago, implying that the new 103 cases have been registered in a period of one week.

The first COVID-19 positive case was confirmed in late March after the government had announced measures to curb the spread of the deadly virus.


To date, the total number of recoveries remains at 63.

Below is the message from the Ministry of Health about the new confirmed cases.

♦Today, 15 May, 2020, 43 new COVID-19 cases confirmed from 1,838 samples of truck drivers. This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 203 in Uganda.
????Elegu: 15 Ugandans, 9 Kenyans, 4 Eritreans
????Mutukula: 5 Tanzanians, 1 Burundian
????Malaba: 5 Kenyans, 2 Ugandans, 1 Burundian
1 nationality unknown
????All 720 community samples have tested negative for COVID-19. 
????Total COVID-19 recoveries: 63
???? Total samples tested today: 2558
