Rwanda has reported that a Ugandan who traveled from the UK on Sunday has tested positive for the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Rwandan Ministry of health reported on Sunday that four more people had tested positive, including the Ugandan who arrived from London on the same day.

The other three cases are all of Rwandans who include one who traveled from South Sudan, another from Fiji via the US and Qatar while the third has no travel record.

“All patients are currently under treatment in stable condition, isolated from other patients. The tracing of all contacts has been conducted for further management,” the ministry reported.

Meanwhile, Ugandan has intensified screening for COVID-19 at the common border with Rwanda.

Uganda is yet to report a positive case for COVID-19 as Kenya reported a total of three individuals who had contracted the virus.

Relatedly, Kenya unveiled a series of strict measures to curb coronavirus on Sunday, blocking entry to the country to all except citizens and residents and shutting schools as the number of confirmed cases rose to three.

The country's Health Minister Mutahi Kagwe announced that two people who had sat next to the first patient on the airplane as she traveled back from the United States via London had tested positive.
