President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni met the Secretary General of the East African Community (EAC), H.E. Veronica M. Nduva, at State House Entebbe, where the two leaders discussed strategies to deepen regional integration and cooperation among EAC member states.

The meeting focused on key areas of mutual interest that could accelerate the bloc’s goals of economic growth, political unity, and infrastructural development.

President Museveni welcomed Nduva to Uganda and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to a stronger and more cohesive East African Community. He emphasized the importance of collaboration among partner states to drive regional stability and shared prosperity.

The Secretary General applauded Uganda’s leadership in advancing the EAC’s vision and pledged to work closely with all member states to ensure tangible progress on shared priorities.

Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, Uganda’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Community Affairs, also attended the meeting. She underscored Uganda’s ongoing efforts to enhance its contribution to the EAC integration agenda.

The engagement comes at a time when the EAC is exploring deeper integration through trade, infrastructure, and harmonized policies across its member states, which include Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Somalia.
