Capt. Mike Mukula, owner of Arrow Security Systems Ltd, has announced the death of retired Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sam Omara, who served as the company's Director of Operations and Deputy CEO.
Omara, 65, passed away at Mulago National Referral Hospital at 7:00 a.m. after a prolonged battle with cancer. He had been undergoing dialysis following kidney failure, alongside his treatment for prostate cancer.
In a post on social media, Capt. Mukula expressed deep sorrow, describing Omara as "a dedicated leader whose contributions will always be remembered."
“We wish to extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends, and especially to the Inspector General of Police, the Uganda Police Force, Arrow Security Company, and all colleagues. Funeral arrangements will be announced later,” Mukula added.
Omara was a prominent figure in the Uganda Police Force, notably serving as Kampala North Police Operations Commander. He played a key role in handling the 2011 "walk-to-work" protests led by opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye.
Following his retirement from public service, Omara transitioned into private security, taking up a senior leadership role at Arrow Security Services.
