Top supporters of National Unity Platform (NUP) and Forum for Demcractic Change (FDC) in Kumi District have crossed to the NRM Party.

The opposition mobilizers abandoned their presidential flag bearers Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine (NUP) and FDC's Patrick Amuriat during a meeting convened by NRM Vice chairperson for Eastern region Capt Mike Mukula in Kumi today (Tuesday).

The flamboyant Mukula landed in Kumi Boma Grounds in a chopper before proceeding to meeting NRM executive from Kumi County and Municipality.
During the meeting, over 10 Bobi Wine supporters ditched NUP and joined NRM where they promised to campaign for President Yoweri Museveni.

At the same function, over 50 FDC top mobilizers also ditched their FDC party cards and 'entered' the Bus in a function which was also witnessed by NRM flag bearer for Kumi Municipality Woman MP Amongin Aporu.

The FDC supporters said that they have realised their future is not secure under FDC presidential flag bearer Patrick Amuriat who also hails from the same district.

Mukula urged the people of Kumi not to be politically emotional, but rather be rational when choosing a presidential candidate.

"I know Amuriat is home boy but let's look at the bigger picture, let's look at development. We have just come out of the 'threatre', let's first heal before you abuse the doctor. NRM is still stronger. If we want to benefit from the NRM government then we must support the government," Mukula said.
