President Museveni and Mama Janet Host Gen Kainerugaba’s 50th Birthday Dinner
President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady Mama Janet hosted a dinner last evening in honor of Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s 50th birthday. The event was attended by relatives, friends, and senior government leaders.
At the event, Mama Janet gifted Gen Kainerugaba with 100 cows from her herd.
Earlier in the week, the CDF celebrated his birthday with tree planting and the inauguration of a Neonatal Unit for preterm babies. The planting of 50 trees to mark his 50th birthday took place at one of the UPDF barracks.
For the birthday celebrations, Gen Kainerugaba, accompanied by his wife, Charlotte, and their youngest daughter, planted trees at Luttamaguzi Barracks in Kigungu, Entebbe, alongside soldiers from the Special Forces Command (SFC). They then inaugurated the Neonatal Special Care Unit at the Dr. Ronald Bata Memorial Hospital in Entebbe, providing essential care for preterm babies.
As a gesture of support, Mama kits were donated to new mothers at the hospital. On social media, thousands of well-wishers sent birthday greetings to the CDF, and many signed boards to convey their love and best wishes.
In response to the messages, the CDF expressed his gratitude on his social media page:
"I want to thank the thousands of people from Uganda and beyond who sent me birthday wishes. Your love and support mean a lot to me. Today (Wednesday), Charlotte, our youngest daughter, and I planted 50 trees with soldiers of the SFC. It is said that the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, but the second best time is today. Let us all do our part in protecting the environment by fighting deforestation. We also inaugurated the Neonatal Special Care Unit at Dr. Ronald Bata Memorial Hospital in Entebbe Barracks. This hospital has transformed from a Medical Reception Centre to a fully operational General Military Hospital over the past 11 years. Thank you all once again."
