Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba

The works on the foundation of the twin buildings that will house the new multibillion-shilling Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs Headquarters are now complete.

The Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, met this afternoon with Gen Mohamed Ashraf from Egypt's General Intelligence Service at the Special Forces Command Headquarters in Entebbe.

Uganda has received a consignment of Hepatitis C drugs from Egypt, sufficient to treat 500 patients.

The drugs were received on Monday morning by SFC Commander Maj Gen BD Mugisha on behalf of the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

After only eight months with Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba at the helm of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces, the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs (MoDVA) Headquarters is undergoing an impressive transformation into a state-of-the-art facility.

Mr. Emmanuel Cohet, the Special Envoy of France for the Great Lakes region, paid a visit to the Chief of Defense Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, at the Special Forces headquarters in Entebbe.

The Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has today met with the Chief of Staff of the Japan Self-Defence Force, Gen Yoshihide Yoshida, at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Ichigaya Tokyo. 

They discussed ways of collaborating more closely as militaries.

Gen Rudzani Maphwanya, South African Chief of National Defense Force, emphasized security diplomacy as the foundation for all diplomatic efforts, stating that political and business diplomacy, can thrive only if security diplomacy is in place.

Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Uganda's Chief of Defence Forces and Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, met with Turkish Ambassador Mehmet Fatih AK and Turkish Defense Attaché Lt Col Caner Sağlam at Special Forces Command Headquarters in Entebbe.

The UK High Commissioner to Uganda, H.E Lisa Chesney, has hailed the historical relations between the United Kingdom and Uganda, expressing pride in being the custodian of these relations.
