Centenary Group is set to strengthen its regional presence with the launch of Centenary Group House – Mbale, a commercial complex designed to promote financial inclusion and economic growth in Eastern Uganda.
The new facility, which will be officially inaugurated on Saturday, 18th October 2025, will be commissioned by His Grace Dr. Emmanuel Obbo, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Tororo. The launch marks a major milestone in Centenary Group’s ongoing effort to decentralize growth and extend modern financial and digital infrastructure beyond Kampala.
Rising elegantly in the heart of Mbale City, Centenary Group House symbolizes the organization’s long-term commitment to regional development. The building will serve as Centenary Bank’s regional office and provide premium commercial space for businesses, government agencies, NGOs, and startups looking to establish a presence in Eastern Uganda.
According to Prof. John Ddumba-Ssentamu, Chairman of Centenary Group, the investment reflects confidence in Uganda’s regional potential.
“Centenary Group House – Mbale is a powerful statement of faith in regional Uganda,” Prof. Ddumba-Ssentamu said. “It demonstrates our belief that growth must not be centralized in Kampala. By extending modern financial infrastructure into Mbale, we are opening doors for enterprise, employment, and collaboration across sectors.”
Designed with sustainability and accessibility in mind, the complex features smart energy systems, modern finishes, and customer-friendly spaces aligned with the Group’s people-centered philosophy.
The project also reinforces Centenary Group’s role in advancing Uganda’s Digital Transformation Roadmap through strategic investments in data infrastructure, digital payments, and regional expansion. These efforts aim to empower individuals and businesses to thrive in an increasingly digital economy.
Illona Ndagire, Group Corporate Affairs Manager, said the facility embodies Centenary Group’s brand promise of promoting connectivity and shared value.
“Beyond housing Centenary Bank, this building will offer high-quality commercial space to organizations seeking convenience, connection, and opportunity in Eastern Uganda,” Ndagire noted.
Once opened, the facility will begin accepting tenants and is expected to become a hub for regional enterprise and innovation — linking businesses to Centenary Bank’s financial ecosystem and supporting economic transformation in the region.
