The Chief Whip of Opposition in the 11th Parliament, John Baptist Nambeshe will take over as Acting President of the National Unity Platform for the next three weeks after its President, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine will be in the United States of America.

National Unity Platform party leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and David Rubongoya the Secretary General of the party are set to travel to the United States of America next month, the Kampala Post has learnt.

The 2021 National Unity Platform Presidential fagbearer Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has deleted social media posts in which he claimed to have held a virtual meeting with the president of Venezuela.

The 2021 presidential candidate for the National Unity Platform  Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has withdrawn the petition challenging President Yoweri Museveni’s victory.

Bobi Wine made the declaration during a press conference at his party offices in Kamwokya on Monday.

The Chief of Defence Forces Gen David Muhoozi has encouraged Ugandans to go about their usual business without fear amid threats being circulated on social media.

There were spontaneous celebrations among Ugandans in Kampala and surrounding areas following the declaration of president Yoweri Museveni after he retained his seat.

An unspecified number of Facebook accounts believed to be aligned or believed to be friendly with the ruling National Resistance Movement [NRM] were on January 9 blocked with some pages permanently unpublished or deleted on Facebook.
