Gen Kainerugaba Meets Rwanda's Chief of Defence Staff

The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has today afternoon met the Chief of Defence Staff of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Gen Mubarakh Muganga.

Pictures from the meeting show that Commander Land Forces Lt Gen Kayanja Muhanga, the Chief of Defense Intelligence and Security (DIS) Maj Gen James Birungi, among others were also present at the meeting.

The meeting follows the one the CDF had with a delegation from RDF at Mbuya UPDF Barracks in April. During that meeting, Gen Kainerugaba and the delegation, which was led by Maj Gen Vincent Nyakarundi, the RDF Army Chief of Staff discussed bilateral and regional security matters.

A message from the CDF's office indicated at that time that such engagements are routine and form part of ongoing security dialogues between Uganda and Rwanda.
