Kakumiro Pupils to Sit for Special PLE Paper

23 Primary Seven candidates from St. Christine Primary School, Kakumiro district, who recently missed their examinations will be given a chance to sit for a special paper, the Minister of Education and Sports has revealed. 

First Lady Janet Kataaha Museveni has directed Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) to set a special paper for the pupils. 

The 23 candidates reportedly missed the Mathematic paper last week after they failed to get a van to transport them on time to Mpasana Primary School where they were supposed to sit for their papers. 

The Ministry of Education along with UNEB has considered offering them another chance. 

"I have directed the Uganda National Examinations Board (@UNEB_UG) to set a special paper for the 23 Primary Seven candidates from St. Christine Primary School, Kakumiro district, who recently missed their examinations," Janet posted on Twitter. 

In collaboration with the same directive, UNEB Executive Director, Dan Odongo has asked Kakumiro District Inspector of Schools to report to UNEB for details on the arrangements for the administration of  an alternative Mathematic paper. 

"It was agreed that considering the exceptional circumstances under which the vulnerable candidates missed their examination, after fulfilling all the requirements, the Board administers another mathematics paper to the affected candidates," Odongo said.

In the same vein, Minister Janet Museveni has appealed to parents to protect theur children against all kinds of child abuse ahead of the long third term holiday which will commence on 25th November 2022.

"The third term holiday is long; everyone has to ensure that the children are protected from abuse. Parents, please use this time to engage in healthy conversations with your daughters, sons, and grandchildren to avoid risky behavior. Just like Ebola, teenage pregnancies can be prevented by behavior change," she said.
