President Yoweri Museveni has described the resources that will accrue from Uganda’s oil and gas as stimulant that will enable the bigger economic sectors of government to grow.

Uganda will see its current Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grow by 22% by the end of construction of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP), Dr. Mary Goretti Kitutu, the minister of Energy and Mineral Development, has said.
The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project and other oil and gas projects that were launched last week, is expected to provide 14,000 direct jobs.
President Yoweri Museveni has said the signing of the Host Government Agreement (HGA) for the East Africa Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project between the government of Uganda and French gas company Total brings the East African nation closer to earning from its crude oil.
