Brave Security Guard Foils Armed Robbery at Forex Bureau

Police has saluted a brave security guard belonging to Cheetah Security Guard for foiling an armed robbery at Tonix Forex Bureau. 

 Moses Odongo on Friday, 15 March 2024 at around 1am, reportedly foiled an armed robbery, at his guard point of Tonix Forex Bureau at Makonzi zone Bukoto I Parish in Nakawa Division. 

"The guard who was brave and alert on duty, when he fired two shots at two thugs who were vandalizing a Pajero motor vehicle under registration number, UBK 519C, infront of his beat. They fled the scene on their getaway motorcycle," CP Fred Enanga, Police Spokesperson said in a statement. 

According to Enanga, the thugs returned with a second accomplice who was armed with an AK 47 riffle, hidden in a bag and tried to break into Tonix Forex Bureau. 

" The guard [Odongo] opened fire at them, and injured the rider and the second suspect with a bag, containing the gun. 
The 3rd suspect fled from the scene," he said, adding that a police team responded swiftly and recovered an AK 47 riffle, with 8 rounds, breaking implements and the motorcycle, bajaj boxer, which were all exhibited at Kira road CPS. 

"The two suspects have been identified as Kibuuka Lawrence, of Mpererwe, who was armed with a gun and Musekule Ivan, the boda boda rider," Enanga added.
