Gen Kainerugaba Urges Agago People on Wealth Creation
The Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has urged the people of Acholi particularly in Agago District to protect their cattle from Karimojong rustlers in order for them to multiply hence economic prosperity and improved household income.
The General also implored the people of Agago to work with security agencies by providing timely information about those collaborating with cattle thieves so they can be dealt with.
In a message delivered by the UPDF 3Div Commander Brig Gen Joseph Balikuddembe on behalf of Gen MK, the people of Agago were also assured of Gen Kainerugaba’s continued support for their personal security and property.
This was on Saturday as 274 cows were distributed to victims of Karimojong cattle thefts.
Brig Balikuddembe, in an interview with this website said that Gen MK had already fulfilled his other promise of deploying commandoes on top of more security deployment.
The Chairman LCV Agago district Leonard Opio thanked Gen MK for the cows which he said were of very good quality.
“I want to sincerely thank Gen Muhoozi, he came and saw people devastated because of the raids and he said give me time and now after 20 days, I received a call telling me the cows are on the way. The people are very happy and I really appreciate the quality of the cows, the bulls will improve our ‘small’ cows,” Mr Opio said.
