Former US Ambassador Ogwang Deployed to Khartoum
Former Uganda's Deputy Ambassador to United States, Dickson Ogwang Okul has been deployed in Sudan, Khartoum.
Ogwang has been sent to Khartoum as the Deputy Ambassador of Uganda and his appointment takes effect from January 2021. The unit also takes charge of Eritrea and Chad.
The appointment brings double joy after Ogwang's wedding ceremony which took place at Mestil Hotel in Kampala on Wednesday 10th December 2020. Ogwang used the legal procedures to wed his long time friend, Ranny Ismail, Assistant director at Parliament.
Ogwang was recalled from USA in 2017 following a brawl with his former wife, Miriam Otengo. Subsequently, Ogwang filed for divorce on December 09, 2019 citing verbal assault from the respondent (Otengo) and involvement in extra-marital affairs. Mid this year, his divorce petition was granted, giving him the lee way to marry Ranny.
Before his new deployment to Khartoum, Ogwang was working at the Diaspora Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
