Uganda-Rwanda Relations Stronger, Says Gen MK After Third Kigali Visit

Muhoozi The Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has concluded his Kigali visit after a series of meetings with Rwandan President Paul Kagame.

The General who was visiting Kigali for the third time this year noted that Uganda and Rwanda’s relations are even stronger now.

“Very happy to be back home after another very successful visit to beautiful Rwanda, and after more great discussions with my great uncle H.E @PaulKagame. Uganda-Rwanda relations are now very strong indeed! Godbless both brotherly countries,” Gen Kainerugaba tweeted Tuesday evening.

Gen Kainerugaba, who arrived in Kigali on Saturday, met the Rwandan leader on each of the days he has been in the country nicknamed the land of a thousand hills due to its hilly and mountainous physical natural beauty covering the land.

After his arrival in Kigali, Gen Kainerugaba and his delegation met President Kagame at his private office at the Kigali Convention Center.

Gen Kainerugaba was accompanied by veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda, renowned farmer Barnabas Taremwa, Mr Alexander Mukonzi and his Military Assistant Col Mcdans Kamugira among others.

On his second day, Gen Kainerugaba joined the Rwandan leader and hundreds of Kigali city dwellers to participate in Car Free Day, a sports event which takes place twice a month in Kigali City.

The sporting event is aimed at promoting a green Kigali city while championing a healthy lifestyle among the city dwellers.

During the Sunday morning walk from the Kigali Arena to the Convention Center, Gen Kainerugaba and his host were also joined by First Lady, Jeannette Kagame, the Rwandan Minister of Sports, Aurore Mimosa Munyangaju and the Mayor of Kigali City, Pudence Rubingisa.

President Kagame also hosted Gen Kainerugaba and his delegation at his home in Gako, a district near Kigali. The Ugandan visitors were then treated to a relaxing tour of the president’s farm where they got to graze the majestic Inyambo cows.

On his last day, Gen Kainerugaba held a private meeting with the President before he bade farewell to his guests at Urugwiro Village which houses his office.

The General was then seen off by Rwandan military Generals including Maj Gen Willy Rwagasana, the Commander of Rwanda’s Republican Guard; and Brig Gen Ronald Rwivanga, the Spokesman of the Rwandan Defence Forces.
